I stuck my finger under the edge of the paper
and jerked it under the tape.

After an incident at Bella's 18th birthday party, Edward, and the rest of the Cullen family, are brought to face the grim reality that Bella can never be truly safe in the presence of vampires. In an effort to protect Bella, Edward ends their relationship, and the Cullen family disappears from Forks. Bella is left depressed and completely heartbroken. Months later Bella discovers that any thrill-seeking or dangerous activities give her the ability to "hear" Edward's voice in her head. During her reckless stage, Bella warms up to Jacob Black, who she finds has vastly matured and now is a werewolf.
Now there are viscious vampires seeking out Bella for revenge, and Edward is looking to end his life when he believes that Bella has ended hers.
