Introduction
Stephenie Meyer was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and graduated from the Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, with a bachelor's degree in English. Brigham Young University is owned by The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints, Meyer herself being Mormon. She lives with her husband Christian, who she met in high school, and their three sons in Phoenix.
Meyer was allegedly inspired to write Twilight after a dream in 2003. The book was consequently published in 2005, followed by New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Her fifth book in the series was indefinitely withdrawn when parts of the draft were leaked to the public.
She published another book, a science fiction/romance novel called The Host, in 2008.
